Kitsap Cardiology Consultants Heart Rhythm Monitoring
Holter Monitor
The Holter monitor is a small portable electrocardiogram (EKG). It keeps a record of the heart rhythm, typically over a 24-hour period, while the patient keeps a diary recording their activities and any symptoms they may feel. The monitor and its electrodes cannot be submersed in water so you will not be able to shower or bathe for a 24-hour period.

Event Monitor
Event Monitors are similar to Holter Monitors; worn while doing your normal activities. However, instead of a continuous recording, the monitor records data when the patient experiences symptoms. There are many different kinds of monitors available and your cardiologist will pick the one that is right for you.
